Hi! My name is Sarah, and I’m a recreational runner, former teacher, and passionate advocate for children and youth. So far, I have completed 6 half-marathons, so the 2025 Chicago marathon will be my first attempt at a full marathon, and I’m more than ready for the challenge!
I first came to know of CASA through my college sorority. Philanthropy events were the highlight of the year for our chapter, and for the entire Greek community on campus, and it meant so much to be able to draw attention to and raise funds for CASA. Later, as a middle school teacher, I learned the importance of fostering relationships with my students and the difference a caring, adult can make on student outcomes. That’s why I feel so strongly about CASA’s mission and the vital role that advocates play in helping children find safe, loving homes where they can thrive.
Every mile of training between now and October 12 will test my fortitude and resilience, but with every step, I can look to CASA and they work that they do in Cook County for inspiration and know that I’m running towards a brighter future for children.
