Patrick Mudd

My name is Patrick Mudd and I am excited to be running my first marathon for Team CASA of Cook County. When selecting a charity for the Chicago Marathon, I was quickly drawn to CASA because of my Mom’s work as an advocate for CASA in the past. Hearing her stories of the children she helped made me understand the important work done by CASA. Before these discussions with my mom I wasn’t even aware of the organization, and I wondered how many people there were like me who would be inspired if they were more informed. I’m hoping by running the marathon, I will raise awareness and inform friends and family of the important work done by CASA advocates. I am also hoping fundraising will provide opportunities for the children in the foster care system and help expand CASA’s reach. I understand what a privileged situation I am in to be able to run this marathon, and I’m excited to be use that situation to raise awareness for such an important cause. I am hoping to perform well for my first marathon, but I know the awareness raised and programs funded through our work will far outlast race day.
