For the past year, I have served as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for a child in the overburdened child welfare system. As a CASA volunteer, I advocate for my youth to ensure that their needs and wishes are not disregarded or ignored. I work with my youth’s social worker, attorney, therapists, teachers, doctors, family members, and others to ensure that they are receiving the proper attention they deserve. I make sure their voice is being heard.
A single person can be the tipping point that leads a child’s life toward a positive direction. This coming October, I will be participating in the Chicago Marathon to raise critical awareness and funds for CASA. Funds raised will support CASA’s mission of providing a court appointed advocate to youth so that every youth has a consistent, supportive figure advocating for their well being.
Please join me in changing the trajectory of a youth’s life by giving them a fighting chance. Any amount you can contribute will make a difference.
