After years of considering myself a “bad runner,” I’m so excited to be running the Chicago marathon with Team CASA! I moved to Chicago during the pandemic and forced myself to run as a way of safely getting outside. A few months in, I discovered with horror that I actually *enjoyed* it, and soon after set a marathon goal. However, I knew the only way I’d get ‘er done was if I ran with an organization I really believed in. CASA of Cook County is that organization. There are currently over 5,600 children in protective custody in Cook County, a system ranked last in the nation for timely, permanent placements. CASA plays a crucial role in ensuring these children receive the support and advocacy they need to find safe, stable homes. I am proud to support their mission, and am grateful to everyone who has partnered with me through giving!
