Bank of America CHICAGO MARATHON

Carlos Alvarez

Hello! I’m Carlos, I’m from Brownsville, Tx a city way down south in Texas. I started running at the beginning of 2020 in order to lose weight having been a 350lb plus guy it took a while before I could actually call it running, but I was able to achieve it April 2021 when I did my first spartan 5K run.

I really got into running when I joined a running club who I now call my running family cause that’s what it feels like to me. I completed my first Half Marathon in South Padre Island in November 2021 with 4 more following the 4 following months last one in Austin, Texas in February 2022.

Since then I’ve been training continuously up my mileage to 36 miles weekly to get my body prepared for my first full marathon in October.

I’m excited to be doing my first full marathon for Team CASA!! I do network administrator work for a local CASA organization in my city CASA of Cameron and Willacy County. I know the hard work that case workers and the staff put into each case and making sure foster children are taken care of.

See you all in Chicago this October.
