(ABC7) Casa of Cook County holds fall gala

CHICAGO (WLS) — Casa of Cook County recognized volunteers and advocates working to improve the lives of children in foster care at their fall gala Wednesday night.

ABC 7’s Diana Palomar accepted the media champion award on behalf of ABC 7.

ABC 7’s Hosea Sanders also served as the emcee for tonight’s gala.

2019 CHICAGO MARATHON

In 2019, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Cook County has 19 amazing individuals who are running 26.2 miles all to support children in the Cook County foster care system who have experienced abuse, neglect, abandonment, or all three. Team CASA runners are raising funds so that these children can be matched with a CASA volunteer who will give them a voice in court and help them find a safe, permanent home.
