I’ve been running since high school, but have only started tackling the marathon distance for the past 7 years. I have a lofty goal of completing the Six Majors. NYC Marathon was my first major and my first time running as a charity runner. Running is usually thought of as a solitary activity, but through raising money for a charity my family and friends felt like they were part of my training. I decided to partner with CASA of Cook County because of the incredible work CASA does to help foster children. I was first introduced to CASA Los Angeles through my coworker and their yearly silent auction. I was incredibly impressed not only by the advocates that I met but also the children. While I may not have time to be an advocate, I can help by doing some of the things I do best: running and hopefully fundraising.
