Bank of America Chicago Marathon
For over 30 years, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Cook County has been training everyday people to stand up for children that have experienced abuse and neglect in an overwhelmed and extremely under-resourced foster care system. Today there are anywhere between 5,800 to 6,000 children in Cook County’s foster care system. Our volunteer advocates are court-appointed for cases deemed most in need of individual, dedicated support. Learn more about our work here: http://bit.ly/CASA_Cook_Cty
Team CASA is one of the primary ways in which CASA of Cook County supports its child advocacy program. Runners in 2016 and 2017 have successfully raised close to $100,000 to support CASA’s child advocacy program and we’re happy to have you with us this year! Our goal this year is to once again run the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and raise $50,000. All funds raised by Team CASA go towards the child advocacy program, allowing CASA of Cook County to provide more court appointed special advocates to children in foster care.
All members of Team CASA commit to fundraise $1,500 and receive the following benefits:
- Guaranteed entry in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon
- Race entry reimbursement (value of $195)
- Runner support meetings sponsored by CASA of Cook County
- Fundraising workshops and events
- Team CASA marathon jersey
- Pre-marathon team pasta dinner
- Post-race team celebration
We highly encourage you to share the opportunity to join Team CASA with your friends! There’s nothing better than running for a good cause alongside great people!
